LISTEN TO ME FUCKO.
Im not uttering a Mythology.
Im uttering a personal reminiscence.
Thats the way I remember it.
Now slither back into your slush pit and shut your hole.

The Anointed Remnant:- Are They Really Anointed?
by stevieb1 inthis has been something that has been in the back of my mind for quite a while.
are those claiming to be of the anointed amongst jehovah's witnesses really going to heaven?
many jw' view them as being on a higher spiritual plain than the average jw and that they view the bible as a personal letter to them.

The anointed ones occupy a weird place in the Witness mythology.
I recall knowing two of them when I was growing up. Well, not knowing them as in KNOWING them. They had an aura, a mystique surrounding them.I dont recall I ever noticed anyone speak to them. Probably most of the ordinary mortals at the meetings felt they were unworthy to engage one of the joint heirs in mundane conversation. Probably the joint heir in question just wished someone of the mere mortals would
invite them around for a barby and a beer. But no. They were just old people that noone seemed interested in and noone noticed except on that one evening every year when they supped from the cup.
When that moment came, every eye was(slyly) upon them.
Every mind (I imagine) wondered what kind of a person it was that would rather sit on a throne in space than spend a thousand years screwing and establishing their own personal patriachy.Building your own Nation of blood descendants.
After the annual ritual was over, they slipped back into their shadow world. The position doled to them by the society. Waiting like one of those underground insects for their next moment in the sunshine a year hence. -

God is editor of the WT
by Earnest inin an earlier thread reference was made to a court case in which fred franz stated that jehovah god was editor of the "watch tower".
as this quotation is often used to support the allegation that jws believe the wt is inspired of god i thought it would be of wider interest to provide the relevant court record for general consideration.. the court case itself was in 1940 and was olin moyle against fred franz and others and the wtbts.
just so that you know who is who, hayden covington was attorney for the defendants and walter bruchhausen was attorney for the plaintiff.

They are slowly and surely selling out to "Babylon the Great" buddy.
Selling their soul to the "system". "Compromising with the world".
All the while righteously condemning those practises. How , in a conglomerate world, can you run a 6 million member empire without climbing into bed with the Government, the tax department, and assorted other organizations?
Answer: YOU CANT.
Thus, because they make mouthings about how wicked the government is and its run by Satan, they have no option but to practise a double standard and sneak into their harlots bedchamber in secret.
That takes double think Ernie.
You have to do it while telling yourself youre not doing it.
And why are they doing this?
its because they have their market share.
Theyve got 6 million.
The Adventists 6 million.
The mormons 10 million.
They are content.
Now they are thinking, "How can we get more comfortable?"They arent unique in this.
We were talking the other day about these pentecostal churches that preach that antichrist is going to come and set up a world dictatorship to fullfill Bible prophecy.
The only problem is they actively work fighting tooth and nail to fight the establishment of this anti christ system they supposedly cant wait for.
Isnt that working against Gods purposes?
Of course it is.
Extremist churches that preach death and destruction are all caught in this same bind.
The blood and thunder is exciting and gets the rubes in the door.
But once theyve got a big congregation they start thinking about their belly and their new car. They say they want Armaggedon to come but work the opposite reality. -

Quietly singing Praises' to Jah
by plmkrzy ini was reading "remembering" and it made me remember how deflated the air always seems when it comes time to stand and join together in song.. once in a while, depending on the cong.
i was visiting , someones voice would stand out in the crowd and sound like they were actually singing from their heart.
i remember the last assembly i attended several months ago, the man sitting next to me stood up to sing and i swear you could hear him over everyone else and there were over 11,000 people in attendance that day.

I reckon you must be about 35 years old.
Entertainment was slim in a dub meeting wasnt it? maybe a snicker of laughter once a week, a gag once a fortnight. An unintended gag at the expense of an incompetent speaker now and then.
Most of the time though...
Boredom Boredom BOREDOM.
And watching the clock.Looking out the window at real people doing real things in the real world.
Another world..

I cant see theyd be coming here to rescue apostates.
More likely:
1) theyve got doubts themself
2) they feel confident they are right and want to test their mettle.Regarding the first option:
A lot of people hang onto church membership long after they dont want to be there anymore. People get tired of being told how to live, when to eat, and how hard to work. A lot of them are trapped mentally, even after they do eventually stop going to meetings, they still believe its the Truth. Some people I know, havent attended in 10 years but still believe its True. When you actually talk to these people you can see they are ALMOST free. They feel the org is too restrictive, too tight, too demanding, too plodding, but they cant make the mental break which would lead to the conclusion that they were wrong all those years. Following after a bunch of opinionated men.
Hopefully, a lot of those here (still active)are dabbling their feet in the waters of freedom of information and opinion, and having fantasies about swimming in the lagoon of independant study and freedom of choice. -

JWs are one of the most emotionless churches Ive ever attended.
And I speak from experience , Ive attended heaps of different sects and churches. Theyve all got their foibles, their own individual feel.
Each sect that is.
One of the things about dubs is they dont show much emotion, they dont get excited. Not at meetings anyway.Though we used to get plenty excited on Saturday nights, away from the ever watching eyes of control. On its facade,Its all very restrained, very dry. Almost as if the less human feeling is manifest the holier it is. Why does this manifest in the church?
I dont know, Ive thought about it but dont have a clear answer.
There is a great pride within the "organization" in "rationality".
A pride in reasoning ability ( while, of course not actually practising it) wheras a lot of other churches seem to relish emotional displays, even tears and supplication.
Thats just where dubs are different is all.
It could be worse. You could have been in a charismatic church where, every time you go to church youve got to find the energy to convince yourself to yowl, roll on the floor and gibber.
Id rather sit in a dub meeting.
Whichever you go to, theres no escaping complying with required behaviour.Whether dumb submissiveness, "holy laughter" , or weeping and supplicating on your knees.
Remember, years ago? The congregations used to have their own orchestras. Some creaky old sister on the piano plonking away 5 notes behind the singing congregation? Too much humanity in that. Not enough uniformity. Stamp that out and have universal recorded music, every cong playing the same recording, at the same volume at the same time.
I guess its all just more evidence of how controlled the church is.
The members instinctively know its tightly controlled, even if they dont consciously admit it. Their personal restraint in public
behaviour is demonstration that they accept the control as of God. -

Synopses of the Danni issue
by seven006 infor those who would like a synopses of this issue for what ever reason, i would like to try and put as many of the confusing pieces together as i can.
why they chose to do it at a kingdom hall is understandable.
mark made his post and revealed a few facts in this issue that were suppressed by the gag order.

Imagine your a cop.
Youre going to a meeting about child molestation.
You walk into a cold. empty. dark hall.
you go into a back room and theres 3 guys in suits. plus, a secret observer on a speaker box,who weighs in with legal opinion.Ask- how does it look, to you as a cop?
It looks GUILTY. Thats how it looks.
Clever Borg Org.
Hold it during a happy meeting of Jehovahs people.
Nothin to hide. Now Im TOTALLY convinced Dannis legit.
Get off her you paranoid twits.!! -

Well Ive been watching this subject and can comment.
The speaker phone guy absolutely SMACKs of authenticity to me.
I mean the elders know its about molestation and heres 2 cops?
Christ.
Of course theyd have a legal observer.Course he would be conceal. This is the ONE thing that makes me KNOW dannis legit
Anyone thinks this is bullshit got rocks in their head. The heart attack guy.Whats the problem with him? sounds legit to me.
Ive already posted on that one.I must admit when I saw Yardick post about it taking place during a congragation meeting I was taken aback..it made me pause.
I still dont understand this one.
Normally, meetings of elders and confession/punishment sessions are conducted in secret. Away from observation.
Then again. dont forget, their dealing with COPS. Not APOSTATES.Not SINNERS. Maybe they wanted it public to show the cops, "hey, were friendly, nothing to hide here"
Thats possible.
Dont forget, the ORG has set the meeting time, not the cops.
Why would the org decide to hold the meet DURINg a cong meeting??
There are reasons arent there?. Think like the borg masters do.
Lots of witnesses. Children. Hey its all very friendly, happy faces.
We got nothing to hide.
Its possible aint it?Of course darryl jumped in boots and all, these two people are COPS, not CHRISTIANS. It was obvious, to me, darryl jumped in because danni was momentarily paralized and didnt know what to say.
Across the board I see no reason to think Dannis a troll .
She seems genuine to me.By the way. I come from a line of elder relatives and associates. They swear when provoked. Dont worry about that. A friend of mine was telling me about an elder chewing out a guy in the car park at the hall yesterday, lots of expletives.
Dannii. Sorry about all this, these dubs (ex dubs) are very paranoid people and look for conspiracy in their soup.

ahh-hem (clears throat)
the witnesses are ,strictly speaking, classified as a sect.
My definition of a sect : A belief system that used to be a cult.
The Witnesses, I would say, were a cult under Russell, possibly Rutherford, but are now a semi mainstream sect. -

How Big a Liar Are You?
by Mindchild init seems nothing gets the good people in here so upset as lies.
we all seem to be extra sensitive to lies and damned lies because of being victimized by one of the biggest lairs around, the wts.. but have you ever really tested yourself to find out if you are really snow white yourself?
you got the guts to find out?

The blurb summed me up.
I might have lied with every answer, while believing I was truthing.
